Family, friends, and members of the Knox and Laurel County communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Lila Asher, 19, Jadeance Hale, 18, and James Priddy, 21, whose lives tragically ended during a devastating incident in southern Laurel County, Kentucky, on June 6, 2026.
According to authorities, Lila Asher and Jadeance Hale were pronounced victims of homicide. A third individual, James Priddy, was also found deceased from what investigators believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators reported that concerns were raised after three individuals left a residence in Barbourville and family members contacted authorities regarding a possible domestic violence situation. Barbourville City Police later located the vehicle and initiated a pursuit after it allegedly failed to stop. The pursuit continued into Laurel County and ended on KY 312 when the vehicle came to a stop following a collision.
When law enforcement officers approached the vehicle, they discovered the bodies of all three occupants. Preliminary findings indicate that James Priddy allegedly shot and killed Jadence Hale and Lila Asher before taking his own life.
