SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield community is mourning the loss of 34-year-old Tesia Ta, who died following a serious two-vehicle crash late Wednesday night, Sept. 2, 2026.

According to the Springfield Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:48 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Kearney Street and Benton Avenue.

Investigators say 27-year-old Kayle Moore of Springfield was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse eastbound on Kearney Street. Moore turned left into a business in the 400 block of East Kearney Street, crossing into the path of a 2008 Mercedes-Benz traveling westbound. The Mercedes-Benz was driven by 25-year-old Marquis Starks, also of Springfield.

Ta was a passenger in Moore’s Chevrolet Traverse. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision. Despite medical efforts, Ta later died at the hospital. Her family has been notified of her death.

Moore and Starks were also transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and remain part of the ongoing investigation and medical response surrounding the crash.

Police said the circumstances of the collision remain under investigation. Speeding and impairment on the part of Starks are suspected factors, although investigators have not completed their examination of the crash and no final conclusions have been announced.

Tesia Ta’s death marks another heartbreaking loss for Springfield in 2026. Police said the crash was the city’s 12th fatal motor vehicle crash of the year, bringing the total number of people killed in Springfield traffic crashes in 2026 to 13.

When emergency responders arrived, they found Kubiak at the scene suffering from injuries sustained in the collision. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said a 22-year-old driver, Jared Isai Rodriguez, allegedly struck Kubiak and then fled the scene rather than remaining to assist or wait for authorities. Investigators say Rodriguez was later involved in a second crash nearby, after which he was arrested.

Rodriguez now faces multiple felony charges in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing, as authorities work to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the initial collision, the subsequent crash, and the events leading up to Kubiak’s death.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. on U.S. 259. Patterson was traveling southbound when she attempted to pass another vehicle. At the same time, a vehicle was turning onto Zafra Road, resulting in a collision.

The impact caused Patterson’s vehicle to overturn. Patterson and one of her passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two additional passengers traveling with Patterson were transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol also reported that not all occupants in Patterson’s vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. Authorities continue to document the circumstances surrounding the crash.

CLATSOP COUNTY, Ore. — With profound sadness, we remember Henry Herbert Greenwood, 77, of Portland, whose life came to a tragic end following a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 26 in Clatsop County on Friday evening, August 28, 2026.

According to the Oregon State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m. near milepost 24. Greenwood was traveling eastbound in a gray Honda Fit when, for reasons that remain under investigation, his vehicle crossed into the westbound lane.

The Honda sideswiped a westbound black Tesla Model S driven by 56-year-old Tomislave Lakovic of Portland before continuing into a head-on collision with a westbound black Toyota Tacoma driven by 30-year-old Samantha Reanne Martindale of Molalla.

The chain of events continued as an eastbound black Volkswagen Golf, driven by 35-year-old Brandon J. Troost of Portland, attempted to avoid the Honda as it moved back toward the eastbound lane. The Volkswagen was subsequently struck from behind by an eastbound Ford F-350 pickup driven by 51-year-old Scott Michael Harrington of Hillsboro.

Greenwood was seriously injured in the crash and transported by Life Flight to a Portland-area hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was later pronounced deceased.

His passing leaves behind a life that was undoubtedly meaningful to family members, friends, neighbors and others who had the privilege of knowing him. At 77 years old, Greenwood had experienced decades of memories, relationships and moments that shaped the lives of those around him. His death is a heartbreaking reminder of how suddenly an ordinary journey can become a devastating loss.

A passenger traveling with Greenwood in the Honda was also flown to a Portland-area hospital with serious injuries.

Several others were affected by the collision. Martindale, the driver of the Toyota Tacoma, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, while four passengers in the Toyota were also taken for medical treatment. Their injuries reportedly ranged from minor to serious.

Lakovic, the Tesla driver, was not injured, and two passengers traveling with him also escaped injury. Troost and a passenger in the Volkswagen reported minor injuries but declined transportation to a hospital. Harrington was not injured.

The highway remained affected for approximately five hours as emergency responders worked to assist those involved, secure the area and conduct the initial investigation.

Oregon State Police was assisted at the scene by Medix Ambulance Service, Hamlet Rural Fire Protection District, Banks Fire District, Elsie Vinemaple Rural Fire Protection District and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

As authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, the focus now turns to remembering Henry Herbert Greenwood and honoring the life he lived.

HANSKA — A community is mourning the loss of two Hanska residents, Paul Rewitzer, 73, and Paulette Rewitzer, 74, who lost their lives in a tragic two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

The heartbreaking collision occurred shortly after midnight on Brown County Road 13, just north of Brown County Road 22. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the serious crash and quickly dispatched deputies to the scene.

When Brown County Deputy Erik Byro arrived, he discovered two heavily damaged vehicles—a Chevy Silverado and an Oldsmobile. The severity of the collision immediately made clear that this was a devastating incident.

The driver of the Silverado, identified as 28-year-old Shianne Lee Escobar of Hanska, was found standing outside the Oldsmobile when Deputy Byro arrived.

Inside the Oldsmobile, deputies located two occupants who were later identified as Paul Rewitzer, 73, and Paulette Rewitzer, 74. Tragically, both Paul and Paulette had died as a result of the crash.

Their deaths have left family members, friends and others in the Hanska community grieving the sudden loss of two lives. Paul and Paulette shared decades of life, memories and experiences, and their absence will undoubtedly be deeply felt by those who knew and loved them.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Roark was operating a 2025 Can-Am Outlander 850 ATV when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned. Roark was thrown from the ATV and suffered fatal injuries. Despite the efforts of responding emergency personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 13-year-old passenger from Villa Rica, Georgia, was also thrown from the ATV during the crash. The child was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment but sadly succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was later pronounced deceased.

Two lives were lost in a matter of moments, leaving loved ones facing a grief that words cannot fully express. It is with deep sadness that we remember Dee Buchanon, who tragically lost her life following a fiery vehicle crash in Tice, Florida, on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. at the Morse Shores Shopping Plaza, located at 5179 Palm Beach Boulevard. Tice Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded quickly to the scene after the serious collision.

Following the crash, the vehicle’s engine caught fire. Emergency responders worked swiftly to remove Dee from the vehicle and immediately began lifesaving efforts, including CPR. She was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center with critical injuries, where medical personnel continued efforts to save her life.

Sadly, Dee later succumbed to her injuries.

No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash, and traffic on Palm Beach Boulevard was not affected. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
