The Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at a bar in Peter’s Rest, leaving two men dead and two others injured.

According to authorities, officers responded to a shooting incident at Luna Bar in Peter’s Rest at approximately 3:45 a.m. on June 7, 2026, after the 911 Emergency Call Center received reports of gunfire and possible shooting victims.

Preliminary findings indicate that a verbal altercation escalated into violence, resulting in multiple people being shot.

The two men who lost their lives have been identified by family members as Wahili James, 31, and Samuel Rivera, 34. Both men suffered fatal gunshot wounds during the incident and were pronounced deceased.

Two additional victims were also injured in the shooting. Police reported that one victim is a minor and the other a 30-year-old man. Both survived their injuries and are currently listed in stable condition.
