In Loving Memory of Mitchell R. Berg

It is with deep sadness that we remember Mitchell R. Berg, 20, whose life was tragically cut short following a rollover crash early Sunday morning in the Township of Farmington.

According to the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, emergency authorities received a 911 call at approximately 12:32 a.m. reporting a one-vehicle rollover crash on County Road VV. When deputies and emergency responders arrived, they found that Mitchell had been ejected from the vehicle.

Despite the efforts of those at the scene, Mitchell was pronounced dead at the crash site. His passing has left behind a profound sense of sorrow for those who knew and cared about him.

Also involved in the crash was 20-year-old Braydon S. Lockington, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Braydon survived the crash and was transported to Mayo Hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The sheriff’s office reported that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities also determined that speed and alcohol were factors in the incident.

While the circumstances surrounding the crash may help explain what happened, they cannot lessen the pain of losing a young life with so much ahead of him. At just 20 years old, Mitchell’s journey was only beginning, making his sudden passing especially heartbreaking.

Today, Mitchell is remembered not simply as the young man whose life ended in a tragic accident, but as a person whose presence mattered to the people around him. Every life leaves behind memories—moments shared, conversations remembered, laughter that once filled a room, and the lasting impact a person has on family, friends, and loved ones.
