In Loving Memory of Brock J. Roark and a Young Life Lost

JACKSONVILLE POST — A Tragic ATV Crash Claims Two Lives in Clay County

With heavy hearts, we remember Brock J. Roark, 34, of Delta, and a 13-year-old juvenile from Villa Rica, Georgia, whose lives were tragically lost following a devastating ATV crash in Clay County, Alabama.

The heartbreaking incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, on Good Hope Delta Road near Crutchfield Drive, approximately seven miles southwest of the Delta city limits. What began as a journey on an all-terrain vehicle ended in an unimaginable tragedy that has left families, friends, and communities mourning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Roark was operating a 2025 Can-Am Outlander 850 ATV when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned. Roark was thrown from the ATV and suffered fatal injuries. Despite the efforts of responding emergency personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A 13-year-old passenger from Villa Rica, Georgia, was also thrown from the ATV during the crash. The child was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment but sadly succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was later pronounced deceased.

Two lives were lost in a matter of moments, leaving loved ones facing a grief that words cannot fully express. Brock, at just 34 years old, had a lifetime of memories, relationships, hopes, and dreams ahead of him. The 13-year-old child likewise had an entire future waiting to unfold. Their sudden deaths serve as a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can change.
