In Loving Memory of William Hundley

KNOX COUNTY, KY — A tragic crash in Knox County on Friday evening, August 14, 2026, claimed the life of William Hundley, leaving family, friends, and members of the community mourning his unexpected passing.

According to the Kentucky State Police, the incident was reported at approximately 8:41 p.m. when Knox County 911 contacted Kentucky State Police Post 10 Dispatch to request assistance with a possible fatal collision on Little Indian Creek Road in Knox County.

Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene. Trooper Ben Meadows, Trooper Brian Nantz, Sergeant Bobby Roberts, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and members of the Knox County Rescue Squad were among those who arrived to investigate the crash and assist with the emergency response.

When Trooper Meadows arrived, he discovered a red Dodge pickup truck overturned in a creek. The circumstances of the crash prompted an immediate rescue effort as emergency responders worked to determine whether anyone remained inside the vehicle.

Members of the Knox County Rescue Squad entered the water and located an occupant inside the overturned pickup. Despite the emergency response, the occupant was confirmed deceased at the scene.

The deceased was identified as William Hundley.

Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins responded to the crash site and officially pronounced Hundley deceased at approximately 9:44 p.m.

His death has brought sorrow to those who knew and loved him. While the investigation continues, family and friends are left to remember William for the life he lived and the memories he created with the people around him.
