Fatal Crash on U.S. Route 6 in Ballville Township

A tragic two-vehicle crash in Sandusky County, Ohio, has claimed the life of 20-year-old Nacole Bartolet of Whitehouse, leaving family, friends, and loved ones to mourn a life taken far too soon.

The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal collision, which occurred Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 3:32 p.m. on U.S. Route 6 at State Route 53 in Ballville Township.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2004 Saturn ION operated by 23-year-old Dylon Sinley of Seville was traveling northbound on State Route 53. Investigators said Sinley failed to yield while making a left turn. During the turn, the Saturn was struck by a southbound 2019 GMC Sierra operated by 59-year-old Angela Ebbing of Troy.

The force of the collision resulted in serious injuries to several people involved.

Bartolet, who was a passenger in the Saturn, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Despite the response of emergency personnel, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her death has brought profound sadness to those who knew and cared about her. At just 20 years old, Nacole’s life was filled with possibilities, relationships, memories, and a future that was tragically cut short. While the circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated, her family and friends are now left with the difficult task of grieving a sudden and heartbreaking loss.

Also traveling in the Saturn was 22-year-old Leia McIntire of Wooster, who sustained serious injuries. McIntire was transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo for treatment.

Sinley, the driver of the Saturn, also suffered serious injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to the same medical center.

The occupants of the GMC Sierra were also injured. Angela Ebbing and her passenger, 64-year-old Michael Ebbing, also of Troy, were transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The crash prompted a significant emergency response from multiple agencies. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Sandusky County EMS, Ballville Township Fire Department, Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, and Madison Motors.

As investigators continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision, the loss of Nacole Bartolet remains the most heartbreaking consequence of the crash.

A fatal roadway collision can happen in only moments, but its impact can last a lifetime. For Nacole’s loved ones, the days ahead will be marked by memories of the young woman whose life ended unexpectedly on an Ohio roadway.
