In Loving Memory of Emerald Tingue and Eric

With heavy hearts, we pause to remember and honor the lives of Emerald Tingue and Eric, two individuals whose lives were tragically lost in a devastating motorcycle crash in the early hours of Saturday, August 29, 2026.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., the Washington County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle crash near the intersection of Highway 175 and Highway 164 in the Town of Polk. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene alongside the Slinger Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol. Lifestar Rescue and the Slinger Fire Department also rushed to provide emergency assistance.

When first responders arrived, they located two victims, a woman and a man, who had been involved in the crash. Despite the immediate and courageous lifesaving efforts performed at the scene, both victims tragically died.

The victims were identified as Emerald Tingue, a 29-year-old woman from the Town of Polk, and Eric, a 51-year-old man from the Town of Jackson.

Their sudden passing has left behind an immeasurable sense of loss. A moment that began like any other has become a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile and precious life can be. In the blink of an eye, two lives were gone, leaving family members, friends, loved ones, and their communities to face a sorrow that words can scarcely describe.

For Emerald, life ended far too soon. At just 29 years old, she had so much life ahead of her—more memories to create, more dreams to pursue, and more moments to share with the people who loved her. Though her journey was tragically shortened, the memories she created during her time on earth will continue to live in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

Eric’s passing is equally heartbreaking. At 51 years old, his life represented years of experiences, relationships, memories, and moments that helped shape the person he became. His absence will undoubtedly leave a space that can never truly be filled. Those who knew and loved him will carry forward the memories of his life, his presence, and the moments they shared together.

Following the crash, the roadway remained closed for approximately five hours as the Washington County Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office investigated the scene. The circumstances surrounding the tragedy remain under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

As the investigation continues, the focus remains on remembering the two lives that were lost. Behind every tragic headline are real people—individuals who mattered deeply to someone, whose absence will be felt around dinner tables, during holidays, in old photographs, and in countless quiet moments when memories suddenly return.

Today, we extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of Emerald Tingue and Eric. No words can take away the pain of such an unexpected loss, and no tribute can fully capture the depth of the grief felt by those closest to them. Still, we hope that the love surrounding their memories will provide comfort during the difficult days ahead.

May Emerald and Eric never be remembered only for the tragic circumstances of their passing, but for the lives they lived and the memories they left behind.
