In Loving Memory of Jennifer Engle

The Salem community is mourning the loss of Jennifer Engle, 56, of Salem, Ohio, who died tragically following a vehicle crash on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lisbon Post, Engle was driving when her vehicle crashed into the Perry Township Garage off South Ellsworth Road at approximately 4 p.m. Authorities believe she may have suffered a medical emergency immediately before the crash.

Jennifer was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger traveling in the vehicle was seriously injured and transported to a hospital by medical helicopter for treatment.

The crash also caused heavy damage to the Perry Township Road Department building. A Freightliner dump truck parked inside the garage was damaged as well. Fortunately, no one was inside the building when the collision occurred.

While investigators continue working to determine the full circumstances of the crash, Jennifer’s passing is first and foremost a deeply personal loss for those who knew and loved her.

A life cannot be defined by the circumstances of its final moments. Behind every name is a person with memories, relationships, experiences, and moments shared with others. Jennifer’s life was meaningful to the people whose lives she touched, and her memory will remain with them.

During this difficult time, thoughts are with Jennifer’s family, friends, and loved ones as they face the pain of her unexpected passing. May they find strength in the memories they shared and comfort in knowing that she will not be forgotten.

In loving memory of Jennifer Engle — may she rest in peace and remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
