In Loving Memory of Aaden Owen Elswick

With heavy hearts, we remember Aaden Owen Elswick, 19, whose life was tragically cut short following a serious crash in western Columbus late Friday night.

Aaden was involved in a devastating collision shortly after 11 p.m. as a sedan traveled west along Roberts Road and an SUV approached in the oncoming lane. According to authorities, the sedan attempted to turn left onto Potts Place, cutting across the path of the approaching SUV and resulting in a violent crash.

In the aftermath of the collision, Aaden was thrown from the vehicle and suffered critical injuries. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital, where medical teams fought to save his life. Despite their efforts, Aaden sadly succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

He was only 19 years old.

The loss of someone so young is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can change. Aaden had so much life ahead of him—more memories to make, more dreams to pursue, and more moments to share with the people who loved him. His passing leaves behind an emptiness that words cannot fully describe.

Two other people involved in the crash were also transported to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.

As investigators continue working to understand exactly what happened, the focus for those who knew Aaden is undoubtedly on remembering the young man he was rather than the tragic circumstances surrounding his final moments.

Aaden’s life cannot be defined by the crash that took him away. He will be remembered for the moments he shared with family and friends, the memories he created, and the impact he had on the people fortunate enough to know him.

For his loved ones, the days ahead will undoubtedly be difficult. Grief has no timetable, and the pain of losing someone at such a young age can be overwhelming. Yet, in the midst of sorrow, there is comfort in remembering that a person’s life continues through the memories they leave behind.

Every photograph, every story, every laugh remembered, and every moment shared becomes a lasting piece of Aaden’s legacy.

Nineteen years may seem far too short for a life, but within those years were countless experiences, relationships, hopes, and memories that can never be taken away. Those who loved Aaden will carry those memories with them, keeping his presence alive in their hearts.

May his family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him find strength and comfort during this incredibly painful time. May they be surrounded by people who understand their grief and offer support in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

We remember Aaden Owen Elswick not simply for the tragedy that ended his life, but for the life he lived and the people whose lives he touched.

May he rest peacefully.

Forever 19.
Forever remembered.
Forever loved.
