The Dawson community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 19-year-old Noah C. Parr, a young man whose life was tragically cut short in an early-morning two-vehicle crash in DeKalb County.

According to the Gadsden Post, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, on Alabama 75 near the 76-mile marker, about one mile north of the Lakeview city limits.

Parr, a resident of Dawson, was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup when his vehicle was involved in a collision with a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by 30-year-old Cody A. King of Collinsville.

The impact left Parr fatally injured. Despite the circumstances of the crash, emergency responders were unable to save him, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His death has left family, friends and members of the Dawson community facing the devastating reality of losing someone so young.

The location of the crash was near the 76-mile marker, approximately one mile north of Lakeview city limits in DeKalb County.

King, 30, of Collinsville, was transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne for medical treatment following the collision.

At this time, authorities have not released additional details about what caused the crash or the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing their investigation. Nothing further was immediately available.
