    Remembering a Life of Service

The Worcester community is mourning the loss of Kurt Solomon, a veteran Worcester Police officer whose life was tragically cut short at his home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

According to the information provided by authorities and the local police union, Solomon was a 31-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department. His decades of service represented a significant portion of his life dedicated to protecting and serving the people of Worcester.

News of his death has brought profound sadness to fellow officers, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and all those who knew him.

While the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation, one thing is certain: a member of the Worcester community has been lost, and those who knew Kurt are now facing the difficult task of grieving his absence.

    A Veteran Officer Remembered

Thirty-one years of police service represents an extraordinary commitment.

For more than three decades, Kurt Solomon wore the uniform of the Worcester Police Department and served the community through the challenges and responsibilities that come with a career in law enforcement.

Police officers often encounter people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They respond to emergencies, protect vulnerable people, help families through crises, and work to keep their communities safe.

Behind the badge, however, is a person with a family, friendships, memories, hopes, and a life beyond the uniform.

Kurt’s colleagues knew him not simply as a police officer, but as a fellow human being with whom they shared years of experiences and service.

    A Devastating Discovery

Authorities responded to a Wildwood Avenue residence at approximately 5:28 a.m. Tuesday following a report of a person down. Kurt was subsequently identified as the deceased officer.

The circumstances surrounding his death have not been fully disclosed. Authorities have not announced his cause or manner of death, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Because important questions remain unanswered, it is important to allow investigators to establish the facts and to avoid speculation about what happened.

For Kurt’s loved ones and fellow officers, however, the uncertainty cannot diminish the reality of their loss.

They are grieving a person they knew, respected, and cared about.

    A Community in Mourning

The death of a veteran police officer affects more than one department.

It affects colleagues who spent years working alongside him. It affects friends and neighbors who knew him away from the job. It affects family members who shared a lifetime of memories with him.

For members of the Worcester Police Department, losing someone who devoted 31 years to the department is particularly painful.

A career that spanned decades creates countless connections. There are partners and coworkers, supervisors and recruits, people who worked the same shifts, responded to calls together, shared difficult days, and celebrated moments of success.

Those memories become part of a person’s legacy.

Remembering the Man Behind the Badge

Kurt Solomon’s life should not be remembered only through the circumstances of his death.

He should also be remembered for the years he spent serving his community.

A police career requires dedication, discipline, courage, patience, and an ability to face situations that many people never encounter. Thirty-one years of service represents thousands of days of commitment.

For those who knew Kurt personally, there will undoubtedly be memories that go far beyond his professional role.

There will be stories about conversations, friendships, difficult calls, humorous moments, ordinary days, and experiences that only those closest to him can fully understand.

Those memories are now part of the legacy he leaves behind.

A Difficult Time for His Family and Colleagues

Sudden loss can leave family and friends struggling to understand how life can change so quickly.

For Kurt’s loved ones, the days ahead may be filled with grief, questions, memories, and moments when the reality of his absence feels especially difficult.

May they be surrounded by people who offer compassion and support.

May they have the opportunity to grieve privately and in their own way.

And may the memories of the life Kurt lived provide comfort when the loss feels overwhelming.

For his colleagues in law enforcement, grief may also be complicated by the shared experiences of a demanding profession.

They have lost not simply a coworker, but a longtime member of their professional family.

    The Investigation and Search

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kurt’s death.

Police have identified 58-year-old Karen Solomon as a person wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation. Authorities have not announced criminal charges against her, and the cause and manner of Kurt’s death have not been publicly disclosed.

Police have described Karen Solomon as a white woman with dark-brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities said she was last seen wearing pajama shorts and a tank top while walking toward Westcott Street, and surveillance footage appeared to show her wearing flip-flops.

Because authorities have described her as potentially dangerous, members of the public should not approach her if they see her. Anyone who sees her should immediately contact 911 or Worcester Police at 508-799-8606.

The investigation should be allowed to proceed based on evidence and official findings rather than speculation.

    Honoring Kurt’s Legacy

The most meaningful way to honor a person who dedicated decades to public service is to remember the totality of their life.

Kurt’s legacy includes the years he spent serving Worcester and the relationships he built along the way.

His service was measured not simply in years but in the countless moments when he showed up to do his job and serve the community.

For those who worked alongside him, his name will remain connected to memories of a career that lasted more than three decades.

For his family and friends, his memory will be much more personal.

And for the Worcester community, his passing is a reminder of the sacrifices and personal commitments made by those who dedicate their careers to public service.

    A Message of Comfort

To Kurt’s family, friends, fellow officers, and everyone mourning his loss:

May you find strength in one another.

May the memories you shared with Kurt bring moments of comfort during this difficult time.

May his years of service be remembered with gratitude.

May his colleagues find support in the bonds created through decades of working together.

And may those who loved him be given the privacy, compassion, and time necessary to grieve.

No words can undo the pain of losing someone. But remembrance can ensure that a person’s life is never reduced to the circumstances of their death.

    In Loving Memory

Kurt Solomon dedicated 31 years of his life to the Worcester Police Department.

He served his community for more than three decades.

He was a veteran officer, a colleague, a friend, and a loved one.

His passing leaves behind memories that will remain with those who knew him.

As the investigation continues, may the focus remain on establishing the truth while allowing Kurt’s family, friends, and fellow officers to mourn the person they knew and loved.

May his years of service be remembered with honor.

May his colleagues remember the moments they shared.

May his loved ones find peace in the memories that time cannot erase.

And may the Worcester community never forget a man who devoted decades of his life to serving it.

In loving memory of Kurt Solomon.

    May he rest in peace.

    May his service be remembered.

May his loved ones find strength.

And may his memory remain a lasting part of the Worcester community he served for 31 years.

Gone from our sight, but never forgotten.

Remembering a Young Life Taken Too Soon

The Portage community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kaden Smith, 16, a Portage Northern student who died on Gun Lake last week.

Michigan State Police confirmed Kaden’s identity, bringing a name and a face to a tragedy that has undoubtedly left family members, friends, classmates, teachers, and the wider community grieving.

Kaden was a student at Portage Northern High School, and according to the school district, he had been preparing to begin his junior year. Instead of looking forward to another school year filled with classes, friendships, activities, and plans for the future, his loved ones are now facing the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye to a teenager whose life was only beginning.

    A Future Interrupted

At 16 years old, Kaden had so much life ahead of him.

The teenage years are a time when young people begin imagining the future and discovering who they want to become. There are new friendships, school memories, goals, dreams, family traditions, and countless experiences still waiting to unfold.

Kaden should have been preparing for his junior year, thinking about the school year ahead and making memories with his classmates.

Instead, the Portage community is remembering him with sorrow.

A loss at such a young age is particularly difficult because it represents not only the loss of a person but also the loss of a future filled with possibilities. There were undoubtedly plans that Kaden and those who loved him imagined for the years ahead—milestones to reach, experiences to share, and moments that will now never happen.

A Beloved Student and Community Member

For Kaden’s classmates at Portage Northern, the school will likely feel different when the new academic year begins.

A familiar face will be missing from hallways, classrooms, activities, and everyday conversations. Friends who expected to see Kaden again will instead have to navigate the painful reality of his absence.

Teachers and school staff who knew him will also be affected by the loss. Schools are communities, and when one student dies, the grief can reach far beyond the student’s immediate family.

Classmates may remember Kaden through ordinary moments—the conversations between classes, shared jokes, school activities, lunch periods, sporting events, group projects, or simply seeing a familiar friend during the school day.

Sometimes it is those seemingly small memories that become the most important.

    Remembering Kaden Beyond the Tragedy

When a young person dies unexpectedly, the circumstances surrounding the tragedy can quickly become the focus of public attention.

But Kaden was much more than the circumstances of his death.

He was a 16-year-old student with a personality, interests, relationships, hopes, and dreams. He was someone whose presence mattered to the people around him.

His family knew him in ways that classmates and the public may never fully understand. His friends shared moments with him that they will carry for the rest of their lives. His teachers and school community knew him as a student preparing to take another step toward adulthood.

Those memories are part of his legacy.

A Difficult Time for Family and Friends

There are few losses more devastating than losing a child.

For Kaden’s family, the grief of losing a 16-year-old son and loved one is impossible to measure. The future they imagined for him has been changed forever.

During this painful time, may his family be surrounded by people who offer patience, understanding, love, and support.

Grief does not disappear quickly. It can arrive in waves, sometimes through a photograph, a song, a familiar place, or a memory that suddenly brings the reality of the loss into focus.

May Kaden’s loved ones find comfort in remembering the life he lived rather than allowing the tragedy alone to define his memory.

    A Community Coming Together

The loss of a young person often brings an entire community together.

Friends, classmates, teachers, neighbors, first responders, and community members may all feel the weight of what happened. Even people who did not know Kaden personally can recognize the heartbreak of a teenager losing his life far too soon.

In difficult moments like this, compassion matters.

The Portage community can honor Kaden by supporting his family, looking after one another, and remembering that everyone affected by this tragedy may be processing grief differently.

For his classmates, especially, the beginning of a new school year may bring emotions that are difficult to express. It is important to allow room for grief, remembrance, and healing.

    A Life That Mattered

Kaden’s life may have been short, but that does not mean it was without meaning.

Every person leaves an impact through the relationships they form and the memories they create. At 16, Kaden had already become an important part of his family, his friendships, and his school community.

Those connections do not disappear because he is gone.

His name will continue to be spoken by those who loved him. His friends will remember moments they shared. His family will carry memories of him throughout the years ahead.

A person’s legacy is not measured only by how long they live. It can also be measured by the love they leave behind.

Holding His Family in Our Hearts

As the Portage community mourns Kaden, thoughts and prayers are with everyone who loved him.

May his parents and family find strength during the darkest days of their grief.

May his friends find comfort in one another.

May his classmates be given the support they need as they return to school.

May his teachers and school staff have the strength to help their students while navigating their own grief.

And may everyone who knew Kaden remember that his life was valuable, meaningful, and worthy of remembrance.

    In Loving Memory

Kaden Smith was only 16 years old.

He was preparing to begin his junior year at Portage Northern.

He had a future ahead of him, dreams still to pursue, and countless experiences still to come.

His life was tragically cut short, leaving behind a family and community that will forever wonder what might have been.

Yet Kaden’s story should not end with the tragedy that took him from this world. His memory lives on through the people who knew him, loved him, laughed with him, learned alongside him, and shared pieces of their lives with him.

May those memories become a source of comfort in time.

May the love surrounding his family help carry them through the difficult days ahead.

And may Kaden always be remembered as the young person he was—not simply for the heartbreaking way his life ended, but for the life, relationships, and memories that came before it.

In loving memory of Kaden Smith, age 16.

    May he rest in peace.

    May his family find comfort.

May his friends carry his memory with them.

And may a life that ended far too soon never be forgotten.

Forever 16. Forever remembered. Forever loved.

    Remembering Christopher Brink

The Oshkosh community is mourning the tragic loss of Christopher Brink, 58, an Oshkosh resident who died following a pedestrian crash on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 4:12 p.m. at the intersection of High Avenue and North Main Street. Christopher was a pedestrian who was struck by a commercial vehicle.

Emergency personnel from the Oshkosh Police Department and Oshkosh Fire Department responded to the scene. Christopher was transported by the Oshkosh Fire Department to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, where he was later pronounced deceased.

His passing is a heartbreaking loss for his family, friends, neighbors, and everyone who knew him. Although the circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated, one thing remains clear: a life has been lost, and a community is left to grieve.

    A Life Remembered

Christopher Brink was more than a name in a police report. He was a son, a family member, a friend, a neighbor, and a member of the Oshkosh community.

When someone dies suddenly and unexpectedly, the shock can be overwhelming. There is often no opportunity to say goodbye, no chance for one final conversation, and no time to prepare for the emptiness that follows.

For those who knew Christopher, memories of his life will now become especially precious. The everyday moments that once seemed ordinary—the conversations, shared experiences, familiar places, laughter, kindness, and time spent together—may become some of the most meaningful memories his loved ones carry forward.

His life cannot be defined solely by the tragic circumstances of August 18. He should be remembered for the person he was and for the impact he had on the people around him.

    A Tragic Afternoon in Oshkosh

The incident happened during the afternoon at one of Oshkosh’s intersections. A pedestrian was struck by a commercial vehicle, prompting an immediate response from police and paramedics.

The intersection of High Avenue and North Main Street was closed while authorities investigated the crash, and members of the Oshkosh Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team and Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene.

Christopher was transported to the hospital, but despite the efforts of emergency responders and medical personnel, he later passed away.

For his loved ones, the news undoubtedly brought unimaginable grief. A routine day became a moment that permanently changed the lives of those who cared about him.

Remembering the Person, Not Just the Accident

In the aftermath of a fatal crash, much of the public discussion naturally focuses on what happened. Investigators must determine the circumstances of the collision, and those details are important.

But for a grieving family, the most important part of the story is the person who was lost.

Christopher Brink was a human being with a life, relationships, experiences, and memories. He had a place in the lives of other people, and his absence will be felt in ways that cannot be captured by a news report or an investigation.

May those who knew Christopher remember him through the moments that brought happiness, the memories that brought laughter, and the experiences that made his presence meaningful.

A Message to Christopher’s Loved Ones

To Christopher’s family and friends, there are no perfect words that can erase the pain of losing someone suddenly.

May you find strength in one another during this difficult time.

May the memories you shared with Christopher bring comfort when the sadness feels overwhelming.

May the stories you tell about him keep his presence alive in your hearts.

And may you always remember that the love and memories created during a person’s lifetime do not disappear when that person is gone.

Grief is a reflection of love. The pain of losing someone often comes from how deeply they mattered.

    Honoring Christopher’s Memory

As the investigation continues, the Oshkosh community can honor Christopher by remembering the value of every life and by extending compassion to those affected by this tragedy.

Pedestrian crashes can leave families and communities devastated. They are reminders that every person traveling on our roads deserves care, attention, and respect.

Christopher’s passing is a painful reminder of the vulnerability of pedestrians and the importance of everyone sharing the road responsibly.

But beyond the broader lesson is a personal one: Christopher Brink mattered. His life mattered. His memories matter.

    Investigation Remains Ongoing

The Oshkosh Police Department has stated that the investigation remains ongoing and that no additional details were being released at the time of the update.

Anyone who has information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Oshkosh Police Department at 920-236-5700.

Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477 or through the P3 App.

As investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash, the family and loved ones of Christopher deserve privacy, compassion, and respect as they grieve their loss.

    In Loving Memory

Today, Christopher Brink is remembered not simply as a victim of a tragic pedestrian crash, but as a person whose life touched others.

    He was 58 years old.

    He was an Oshkosh resident.

He was someone’s loved one, someone’s friend, someone’s familiar face, and someone’s important part of life.

The suddenness of his passing makes the loss especially difficult. Yet even in grief, there can be comfort in knowing that a person’s life continues through the memories held by those who loved and knew them.

May Christopher’s family find comfort in the love surrounding them.

May his friends find peace in the memories they shared.

May those who knew him carry his memory forward with kindness.

And may his life be remembered with dignity, compassion, and love.

In loving memory of Christopher Brink, age 58.

    May he rest in peace.

May his memory forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Gone from our sight, but never forgotten.

Remembering a Life Lost Too Soon

The Chesterfield County community is mourning the tragic loss of John Lundeen, 57, following a fatal motor vehicle crash on West Providence Road on Wednesday, August 19.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. in the 9500 block of West Providence Road. Police said a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling westbound when it crossed into the opposing lane of travel and collided with a 2020 Toyota 4Runner.

John Lundeen, who was from the 10400 block of Thoreau Court in Chesterfield, was driving the Chevrolet Equinox. He was transported to an area hospital following the collision, where he was later pronounced dead.

The news of his passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary morning can change and how deeply the loss of one person can affect family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and an entire community.

    A Life Remembered

John Lundeen’s passing leaves behind a space that cannot simply be filled. Every life is made up of countless moments—family gatherings, conversations, friendships, acts of kindness, daily routines, celebrations, and memories that often mean the most to those who shared them.

While details about John’s personal life have not been publicly released, his name now represents a life that mattered and a person whose absence will be felt by those who knew and loved him.

In times of sudden tragedy, it is important to remember the person beyond the circumstances of their passing. A traffic crash may be described in a police report through locations, vehicles, times, and investigative details, but behind those facts was a human being with a life, relationships, hopes, memories, and people who cared deeply about him.

A Tragic Morning in Chesterfield County

The collision occurred during the morning hours on West Providence Road. The Chevrolet Equinox crossed into the opposing lane and struck the Toyota 4Runner.

The driver of the Toyota 4Runner was also transported to an area hospital and sustained minor injuries. While the injuries were reported as minor, the crash nevertheless had a profound and devastating outcome with the death of John Lundeen.

For the people who witnessed the aftermath, responded to the scene, transported those involved, or later learned of the tragedy, August 19 will be remembered as a difficult day.

Offering Sympathy to Those Who Knew John

To John’s family, friends, neighbors, and everyone who knew him, may you find strength in the memories you shared with him.

The days and weeks following an unexpected loss can be especially difficult. Grief does not follow a schedule, and there is no single way to mourn someone who has been taken away suddenly. Memories may bring both comfort and sadness, and even ordinary places and familiar moments can become reminders of the person who is no longer there.

May those who loved John find comfort in remembering the good moments, the conversations, the laughter, the lessons, and the experiences that made his life meaningful.

May John Lundeen be remembered not simply for the circumstances of his passing, but for the life he lived and the memories he left behind.

    A Community Grieves

Fatal crashes affect far more people than those directly involved. They remind communities of the fragility of life and the importance of extending compassion to one another.

As Chesterfield County Police continue their investigation, the community can also pause to remember the human cost of this tragedy. Behind every traffic collision is a collection of lives suddenly changed—families waiting for loved ones to come home, friends receiving devastating news, first responders confronting difficult scenes, and survivors carrying the physical and emotional consequences of what happened.

This tragedy is an opportunity to offer compassion rather than speculation and to keep John’s family and loved ones in our thoughts during an incredibly difficult time.

    Investigation Continues

Chesterfield County Police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone who may have information that could assist investigators is encouraged to contact police at 804-748-1251.

Information may also be provided anonymously through Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660 or through the P3 app.

Until the investigation is complete, the circumstances surrounding the crash should be left to investigators to determine.

    In Loving Memory

John Lundeen was more than a name associated with a tragic traffic crash. He was a person whose life had meaning and whose absence will be deeply felt by those closest to him.

May his family find peace in the memories they shared.

May his friends find comfort in the moments they will always carry with them.

May those who knew him remember his life with kindness and dignity.

And may everyone affected by this tragedy be surrounded by compassion and support in the days ahead.

In loving memory of John Lundeen, age 57.

  • In Loving Memory of Benny Roy Parker

In Loving Memory of Benny Roy Parker

In Loving Memory of Benny Roy Parker

It is with profound sadness that we remember Benny Roy Parker, 86, of Astoria, Oregon, who tragically lost his life in a fatal three-vehicle crash on Highway 30 in Clatsop County on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Benny’s passing is a heartbreaking loss for his family, friends, loved ones, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. At 86 years old, he had lived through decades filled with experiences, relationships, memories, and moments that shaped the lives of those around him. His life was far more than the tragic circumstances that brought it to an end.

When a loved one is taken unexpectedly, there are often no words sufficient to express the pain that follows. A traffic crash can happen in a matter of seconds, but its consequences can remain with a family forever. For Benny’s loved ones, August 18 will now be remembered as the day they lost someone deeply important to them.

A Tragic Crash on Highway 30

According to the preliminary investigation, the Oregon State Police responded at approximately 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, to a serious two-vehicle crash on Highway 30 near milepost 80 in Clatsop County, approximately 16 miles east of Astoria.

Benny Roy Parker was driving a tan Chevrolet Malibu sedan eastbound on Highway 30. His vehicle was stopped while he waited to turn onto Valley Creek Lane.

A gray Ford F-350 pickup traveling eastbound, operated by 73-year-old Roger Dale McGilvey of Ocean Park, Washington, struck the rear of Parker’s Malibu.

The force of the collision pushed the Malibu into the westbound lane. There, it was struck by a silver Honda Accord traveling westbound and operated by 43-year-old Karl Edward Groenke of Ocean Park, Washington.

    The collision was devastating.

Benny Parker was ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

McGilvey and Groenke sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The highway remained impacted for approximately five hours while emergency responders and investigators worked at the scene and authorities conducted their investigation.

    Remembering Benny Roy Parker

While the details of the crash are important to the ongoing investigation, Benny Parker’s life should never be defined solely by the circumstances of his death.

He was a person with a lifetime of memories.

At 86, Benny had experienced generations of change and countless chapters of life. He had people who knew him, people who cared about him, and people who will now have to learn how to move forward without his presence.

Every person leaves behind a story, and Benny’s story belongs to the people whose lives he touched.

For those closest to him, his memory will be found in photographs, conversations, family traditions, familiar places, and the countless moments that may have seemed ordinary at the time but now carry extraordinary meaning.

Those memories become especially important after a sudden loss.

The Pain of an Unexpected Goodbye

There is something particularly painful about losing someone without warning.

There is no opportunity to prepare for the final goodbye. One moment, a loved one is part of everyday life, and the next, family members are faced with the unimaginable reality that they are gone.

For Benny’s family and friends, the days ahead may bring waves of grief that come unexpectedly.

There may be moments of disbelief.

    There may be tears.

There may be questions that cannot immediately be answered.

There may also be moments of laughter as loved ones remember something Benny said or did that brought happiness into their lives.

All of these emotions are part of grief.

The sadness felt after his passing is a reflection of the love and importance he carried during his lifetime.

    A Lifetime of Memories

At 86 years old, Benny Parker had a lifetime of experiences behind him.

Every decade brought new memories. Every person he met became part of his journey in some way. Every family gathering, conversation, celebration, challenge, and quiet day contributed to the story of his life.

Those memories cannot be erased by his passing.

His loved ones can continue to tell stories about him. They can look at photographs and remember where they were and what was happening when those pictures were taken. They can continue traditions that remind them of him.

In this way, Benny’s presence can continue even though he is no longer physically with them.

A person’s life lives on through the people who remember them.

    A Loss Felt by Many

The loss of an elderly loved one can be difficult to describe because it represents the loss of not only a person but also a connection to years of family history and shared experiences.

Benny’s passing leaves behind memories that span generations.

For those who knew him, his voice, personality, stories, and presence may have been familiar parts of life for many years.

Now, there is an absence where that presence once was.

That absence will be felt in quiet moments and during important occasions alike.

    Birthdays may feel different.

    Holidays may feel different.

    Family gatherings may feel different.

Even ordinary days can bring reminders that someone important is missing.

Yet those moments can also become opportunities to celebrate Benny’s life and the memories he left behind.

The First Responders and Those Who Helped

Several agencies responded to the devastating crash and worked to assist those involved while preserving the scene for investigators.

The Oregon State Police were assisted by the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office, Knappa Fire Department, Astoria Fire Department, Medix Ambulance, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Their response reflects the coordinated effort required when a serious collision occurs.

Emergency personnel work under difficult circumstances to provide medical assistance, secure crash scenes, protect other motorists, and help investigators understand what happened.

The highway remained affected for approximately five hours as this work continued.

    The Investigation

The crash remains subject to investigation by the Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU).

The CRU is a specialized team responsible for investigating fatal and critical-injury collisions on Oregon highways. Its work includes documenting and analyzing complex crashes and crime scenes.

According to Oregon State Police, members of the unit receive specialized training in advanced measuring techniques and the use of small unmanned aircraft systems for on-scene investigations. The team includes collision reconstructionists accredited through ACTAR as well as technical collision investigators deployed throughout Oregon.

The ongoing investigation is intended to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and provide a comprehensive understanding of what occurred.

    More Than a Headline

When a fatal crash appears in the news, it can sometimes be easy to focus only on the vehicles, the roadway, the investigation, and the circumstances of the collision.

But behind every fatality is a person.

Behind Benny Parker’s name was a lifetime.

There were people who knew him.

There were memories that belonged to him.

There were moments that cannot be repeated.

And there are loved ones who now have to face a future without him.

That is why remembering Benny matters.

He should be remembered not only as the victim of a tragic Highway 30 crash, but as Benny Roy Parker, a man who lived 86 years and whose life had meaning to those around him.

    Holding His Loved Ones Close

During a time of profound grief, family and friends often need patience, compassion, and understanding.

There is no timetable for mourning.

Some days may be filled with memories and stories. Other days may be much harder.

The healing process does not mean forgetting Benny. Instead, it means learning to carry his memory while continuing forward.

May his family find strength in one another.

May friends and loved ones surround them with compassion.

May the memories of Benny provide comfort during the most difficult moments.

And may they always remember that the love they shared with him does not end simply because his life has ended.

    His Memory Will Live On

A person may leave this world, but the memories they create can remain for generations.

Benny Parker’s life will continue through the people who remember him.

His name can continue to be spoken.

His stories can continue to be shared.

His photographs can continue to bring back memories.

The lessons and experiences of his lifetime can continue to influence those who knew him.

In this way, a person’s legacy is not measured by the moment of their passing. It is measured by everything they leave behind in the hearts of others.

In Loving Memory of Benny Roy Parker

Today, we pause to remember Benny Roy Parker, 86, of Astoria.

We remember a life that mattered.

We remember the memories that cannot be replaced.

We remember the family and friends who loved him.

We remember the years he was given and the experiences that shaped his journey.

And we remember the profound sadness of a life brought to an unexpected end.

May Benny’s loved ones find comfort in the memories they shared with him.

May they find strength in each other during the days ahead.

May the passage of time bring peace without ever erasing the love they have for him.

And may Benny Parker’s memory remain a lasting part of the lives of everyone who knew him.

    Rest peacefully, Benny.

Your journey may have come to an end, but the memories you leave behind will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved you.

Gone from this world, but never forgotten.

Remembering a Life Lost in a Tragic Hit-and-Run Crash

It is with profound sadness that we remember Joseph Williams, 65, who tragically lost his life after being struck while riding his bicycle on Hyndman Road (Route 96) on Wednesday morning.

Joseph’s passing is a heartbreaking loss for his family, friends, loved ones, and everyone whose life he touched. In the wake of such a sudden tragedy, words can feel inadequate. No family should have to receive the devastating news that a loved one will not be coming home.

While the circumstances surrounding Joseph’s death are being investigated by authorities, this moment is ultimately about remembering the person behind the headlines—a human being whose life had meaning, whose presence mattered, and whose memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

    A Tragic Morning

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Joseph Williams was riding his bicycle northbound on Hyndman Road when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.

Investigators say the impact hit the rear tire of Joseph’s bicycle, causing him to be thrown from the roadway and into a nearby yard. The crash left Joseph with fatal injuries.

Sadly, Joseph Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.

What began as an ordinary morning ended in unimaginable tragedy. For Joseph’s family and friends, the details of the crash will forever be connected to the loss of someone they loved.

A Life That Should Be Remembered

Although the circumstances of Joseph’s passing are heartbreaking, his life deserves to be remembered for much more than the tragedy that ended it.

Every person leaves behind a story. That story is made up of relationships, experiences, memories, challenges, accomplishments, laughter, conversations, and countless moments that may have seemed ordinary at the time but become priceless after someone is gone.

Joseph was a son, brother, relative, friend, neighbor, and loved one to people who now have to face a future without him.

His life cannot be reduced to the circumstances of a traffic crash.

He was a person who mattered.

He was someone whose absence will be felt.

And he was someone whose memory deserves to be honored with dignity, compassion, and love.

    The Pain of Sudden Loss

Sudden loss is especially difficult because there is often no opportunity to prepare for goodbye.

Family members may find themselves struggling to understand how everything changed in a single moment. One day, Joseph was part of their lives; the next, they were left facing the unimaginable reality of his absence.

Grief can arrive in many forms. There may be tears, disbelief, anger, silence, memories, and moments when the loss feels impossible to accept.

There may also be moments when something unexpectedly brings Joseph to mind—a photograph, a familiar place, a story, or a simple memory shared years ago.

Those moments can hurt, but they can also become precious reminders of the life that was lived.

    His Memory Will Continue

When someone passes away, their physical presence is gone, but the memories they created remain.

Joseph’s loved ones will carry those memories with them. They will remember the times they spent together and the experiences that made him an important part of their lives.

In time, the pain of loss may change, but the significance of Joseph’s life will remain.

His name will continue to be spoken.

His stories will continue to be told.

His memory will continue to be carried forward.

And the people who loved him will continue to find ways to honor the life he lived.

A Reminder of the Fragility of Life

Joseph’s death is also a painful reminder of how vulnerable people can be when sharing the road.

Bicyclists and motorists rely on one another to exercise caution and awareness. A moment on the roadway can have consequences that last forever.

But while this tragedy serves as a reminder about road safety, it is important not to lose sight of the human being at the center of it.

Joseph Williams was more than a victim of a hit-and-run crash.

He was a person with a life, a history, relationships, and people who cared about him.

Today, those people are left mourning.

    The Investigation Continues

Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

Authorities believe the vehicle involved may have been a burgundy or maroon Ford with damage to the passenger-side mirror and headlight area. Investigators believe the driver fled the scene while traveling north.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information that could assist investigators is urged to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 814-623-6133.

As the investigation continues, information provided by witnesses may be important in helping authorities determine exactly what happened and identify the vehicle and driver involved.

    Standing With His Family

During a tragedy like this, there are no perfect words for a grieving family.

What can be offered is compassion, understanding, and remembrance.

Joseph’s loved ones are now facing a difficult road ahead. There will be birthdays, holidays, family gatherings, and ordinary days when his absence is deeply felt.

May they find strength in one another.

May they find comfort in the memories Joseph left behind.

May they know that others are thinking of them and sharing in their sorrow.

And may they have the space and time they need to grieve.

In Loving Memory of Joseph Williams

Today, we remember Joseph Williams, age 65, not simply because of the tragic circumstances surrounding his death, but because his life mattered.

We remember a life that should have continued.

We remember the memories that remain.

We remember the people who loved him.

We remember the moments that cannot be replaced.

And we remember a man whose absence has left an immeasurable void for those closest to him.

May Joseph’s memory remain a source of comfort to everyone who knew him.

May the stories of his life continue to be shared.

May the love he received during his lifetime remain stronger than the sorrow of his passing.

And may his family and loved ones find peace in the days ahead.

In loving memory of Joseph Williams.

    Your life mattered.

    Your memory will endure.

Your loved ones will carry you in their hearts.

Though you are no longer with them, you will never be forgotten.

    Rest in peace, Joseph.

Please Keep His Family in Your Thoughts

As the investigation continues, please remember Joseph Williams and the people who loved him.

Please keep his family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

May they find strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

Gone from this world, but never forgotten.

In Loving Memory of Huntley Woman Killed in Traffic Crash Investigated by Grundy County Sheriff’s Office

HUNTLEY, IL — August 19, 2026 — The Huntley community is mourning the loss of 30-year-old Rosemary Bolding, who died Wednesday morning following a serious traffic crash in unincorporated Kinsman that remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and the Grundy County Coroner’s Office.

According to the preliminary investigation, deputies were dispatched at approximately 8:55 a.m. on August 19, 2026, to the intersection of W. Gardner Road and S. Johnny Run Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash. The collision involved a blue 2017 Honda Civic driven by Bolding, a white 2024 Mercedes GLE, and an unoccupied white 2022 Ford Utility that was parked at a nearby residence.

Bolding, who lived in the 12000 block of Wisconsin Circle in Huntley, was found inside the Honda after the crash. She sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grundy County Coroner John Callahan.

Her death is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary morning can become a moment of unimaginable loss. Behind every crash report is a person with a life, a story, loved ones, memories and a future that mattered to the people around them. For Rosemary Bolding’s family, friends and those who knew her, August 19 will forever be remembered as the day their lives changed.

    A Tragic Morning

Investigators say Bolding was traveling northbound on S. Johnny Run Road when her Honda Civic failed to stop at the posted stop sign before entering the intersection with W. Gardner Road.

At the same time, a white 2024 Mercedes GLE was traveling eastbound on W. Gardner Road. The Mercedes, driven by a 60-year-old woman from the 100 block of N. Main Street in Seneca, struck the Honda in the intersection.

Following the collision, the Mercedes left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch at the northeast corner of the intersection. The driver and her 64-year-old male passenger, who also resides in the 100 block of N. Main Street in Seneca, were able to exit the vehicle. Both occupants sustained minor injuries.

The Honda continued from the intersection for approximately 500 feet before striking the southeast corner of a residence in the 6900 block of W. Gardner Road. The vehicle then struck the rear of a white 2022 Ford Utility parked in the residence’s driveway. The Ford was unoccupied at the time.

The resident of the W. Gardner Road home was inside the residence when the crash occurred. Fortunately, the resident was not injured.

For first responders arriving at the scene, however, the situation was devastating. Bolding was located inside the Honda with significant injuries, and despite the response of emergency personnel, she could not be saved.

    Remembering Rosemary Bolding

While the official investigation focuses on the circumstances of the crash, those who knew Rosemary Bolding will remember something much more important than the details contained in a traffic report: the person she was.

Rosemary was only 30 years old. Her life represented years of experiences, relationships, hopes and memories, and her sudden passing leaves an absence that cannot be measured by the details of an investigation.

A traffic crash can be described in terms of vehicles, roadways, intersections and preliminary findings. But for a grieving family, the loss is deeply personal. A name on an incident report represents a daughter, sister, relative, friend, coworker or loved one whose presence will now be missed in countless ways.

In the days ahead, Rosemary’s family and friends may find themselves remembering the smallest things—the sound of her voice, a familiar smile, a conversation that once seemed ordinary, or a memory from a day that now feels precious. Those memories become part of the legacy a person leaves behind.

    A Community Mourns

The loss of a young life in a traffic crash is felt far beyond the immediate scene. It is a reminder to everyone traveling on Illinois roadways that every trip carries responsibilities and that circumstances can change in an instant.

As Rosemary’s loved ones grieve, the community can honor her memory by keeping those closest to her in their thoughts and by remembering the importance of safe and attentive driving.

At the same time, it is important to allow investigators the time and space needed to determine exactly what occurred. The circumstances described by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office are preliminary, and the crash remains under investigation.

    Emergency Responders at the Scene

The response to the crash included personnel from several local agencies. Deputies were assisted by the Mazon, Coal City, Braceville, and Verona-Kinsman Fire Departments, along with the Grundy County Coroner’s Office.

Emergency responders routinely encounter some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable. Their work at scenes like this one requires professionalism, compassion and dedication, particularly when a crash results in a fatality.

Their efforts also help protect other motorists, assist injured people and secure scenes while investigators work to establish what happened.

    Investigation Continues

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit and the Grundy County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the crash.

At this time, authorities have indicated that no further information is available. Additional findings may become available as investigators complete their work and review the evidence surrounding the collision.

Because the investigation remains ongoing, the preliminary account should not be regarded as a final determination of every circumstance surrounding the crash.

    In Loving Memory

Rosemary Bolding’s life should not be defined solely by the tragic circumstances of her death.

She was a 30-year-old woman from Huntley whose life ended far too soon. Her passing leaves behind memories that will be carried by the people who knew and loved her.

In the aftermath of such a tragedy, there are often no words that can adequately express the depth of grief. There is only the recognition that someone who was here yesterday is suddenly gone, and that the people who loved her must now learn how to move forward while carrying her memory with them.

May Rosemary Bolding be remembered not for the crash that took her life, but for the life she lived and the memories she gave to those around her.

In loving memory of Rosemary Bolding, 30, of Huntley, Illinois.

May her family, friends and loved ones find strength and comfort in one another during this difficult time. May the memories of Rosemary remain a lasting reminder that every life has meaning, every person leaves an impact, and every loved one deserves to be remembered with dignity and compassion.

Rest in peace, Rosemary. You will be remembered.

Remembering a life lost on the road

The community is mourning the loss of Petros D. Liben, a 54-year-old man from Bartlett, Tennessee, who died following a tragic tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 90 in the Town of Hanover, New York.

According to information released by New York State Police, the fatal crash occurred late Monday night, August 17, 2026, as authorities responded to a report of a commercial vehicle crash on I-90 East in Chautauqua County.

Troopers were called to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. Investigators determined that a 2020 Volvo OTR tractor-trailer pulling a 53-foot trailer had left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Behind the details of the crash was a human life — a husband, father, relative, friend, colleague or loved one whose absence will now be deeply felt by those who knew him.

Liben, 54, suffered serious injuries to his face and abdomen in the collision. Emergency responders transported him by helicopter to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), where he later died from his injuries.

His death is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary journey can turn into a devastating tragedy.

    Remembering Petros

At 54 years old, Petros Liben had lived decades filled with experiences, relationships and memories. Whatever roads he traveled during his life, the people who knew him will remember far more than the circumstances surrounding his final journey.

A person’s life cannot be defined by a single accident or a news report. Behind every name in a fatal-crash investigation is a story — years of work, friendships, family moments, personal accomplishments and countless memories shared with others.

For Liben’s loved ones, this loss may bring an overwhelming mixture of grief, disbelief and unanswered questions.

There may be memories of conversations, family gatherings, celebrations, quiet moments and ordinary days that now carry a different meaning. Those memories can become especially precious after someone is suddenly taken away.

    A Tragic Night in Hanover

The crash happened on Interstate 90 in the Town of Hanover, an incident that prompted a significant emergency and investigative response.

New York State Police said several specialized units responded to the scene, including commercial vehicle enforcement officers, collision reconstruction investigators, criminal investigators and Department of Environmental Conservation spill-response personnel.

Their work reflects the seriousness and complexity of the investigation following a commercial vehicle crash of this nature.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances that caused the tractor-trailer to leave the roadway and collide with the guardrail. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing.

While investigators work to establish the facts, Liben’s family and friends are left to cope with the most painful reality: he is no longer coming home.

    A Life Remembered With Respect

In the aftermath of a sudden death, words can never fully express the depth of grief experienced by a family.

Petros D. Liben was more than a name connected to a crash. He was a human being with a life, a history and people who cared about him.

His passing serves as a reminder to cherish the people around us and never take another day for granted. Life can change in an instant, and the loss of someone we love can leave a space that cannot easily be filled.

For those grieving Petros, may the memories they shared with him provide comfort in the difficult days ahead.

May they remember his life with warmth rather than allowing the circumstances of his death to become the only story told about him.

    To His Loved Ones

To the family, friends and everyone who knew Petros D. Liben:

May you find strength in one another during this difficult time.

May the memories of his life bring comfort when the pain feels overwhelming.

May you find peace in the knowledge that his life mattered and that his memory will continue through the people who knew and loved him.

There are no perfect words for a loss like this. Grief takes time, and everyone experiences it differently. It is okay to mourn, to remember, to ask questions and to take each day one step at a time.

    A Final Tribute

Petros D. Liben’s life came to an unexpected end following the tragic crash on I-90 in Hanover. At the time of the reported incident, authorities were focused on the investigation and emergency response, while medical professionals worked to save his life.

Despite those efforts, he later died at ECMC.

As the investigation continues, the most important thing to remember is the person behind the tragedy.

May Petros D. Liben rest in peace.

May his family and loved ones be surrounded by comfort, strength and support.

May the memories of the years he shared with those closest to him remain alive in their hearts.

And may his passing remind all of us to value every journey, every conversation and every moment we are given with the people we love.

    Rest peacefully, Petros.
Your journey may have ended, but your memory lives on.
