Authorities temporarily blocked off Smith Street between North Plymouth Avenue and Frankfort Street while detectives processed the scene and gathered evidence.

According to the Springfield Police Department, Robin was riding a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Kearney Street when her motorcycle collided with a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup that was turning left from eastbound Kearney Street onto northbound Patterson Avenue.

The pickup was driven by Melvin Sommerfeld, 78, of Fordland. Investigators reported that the pickup was traveling eastbound in the center lane of Kearney Street before beginning the left turn.

Robin was transported to a local hospital following the collision. Tragically, she later died from her injuries. Her family was notified of her passing.

With heavy hearts, we remember Nancy Ann Beck, 81, of Dandridge, Tennessee, who tragically lost her life following a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning on Highway 60 in Lincoln Township, between Lake Crystal and Madelia.

The crash was reported at approximately 9:54 a.m. Tuesday morning. According to information provided by the Minnesota State Patrol, Nancy was operating a 2023 Harley-Davidson FLH when the crash occurred.

Nancy was traveling westbound on Highway 60 along with another motorcyclist, 63-year-old Joyce Lynn Oliphant of Plano, Texas, who was riding a 2026 Harley-Davidson FLH. The two motorcycles were traveling in the same direction, with Oliphant’s motorcycle trailing Nancy’s at the time of the crash.

Both riders were wearing helmets.

Sadly, Nancy sustained injuries in the crash that ultimately proved fatal. Despite the efforts that followed the collision, she passed away from her injuries.

Joyce was also involved in the crash but, according to the State Patrol information, did not sustain any serious injuries.

The incident brought emergency responders from several agencies to the scene, including Blue Earth County authorities, Lake Crystal Police Department, Lake Crystal Fire Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol. It is with deep sadness that we remember Kelli Jo Gauthier, 52, of Avon, whose life was tragically lost following a motorcycle crash in Munson Township on August 16, 2026.

According to authorities, the Cold Spring-Richmond Police Department was contacted at approximately 5:20 p.m. after family members became concerned about Gauthier, who had been riding her motorcycle with a group of other riders earlier that day. At some point during the ride, Gauthier left the group with plans to return to her residence north of the city of Avon.

When she did not arrive home as expected, her family became increasingly worried. After approximately two hours of searching the surrounding area, family members contacted law enforcement and reported her overdue.

Gauthier was reportedly riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson XL1200.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., a Cold Spring-Richmond officer located Gauthier and her motorcycle after discovering that she had crashed in a ditch along County Road 9 in Munson Township, approximately one to two miles north of the city of Richmond. The crash occurred near a sweeping left-hand curve in the 25500 block of County Road 9.

Emergency responders immediately worked at the scene, and lifesaving measures were attempted. Despite those efforts, Gauthier could not be saved. Paramedics ultimately pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Authorities have indicated that alcohol is not suspected to have been a contributing factor in the crash. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

The response involved several agencies and emergency organizations, including the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Cold Spring-Richmond Police Department, Paynesville Police Department, Chain of Lakes Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.

Fatal ORV Crash Claims Life of 28-Year-Old Beaverton Man in Gladwin County

BEAVERTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A tragic ORV crash in Gladwin County has claimed the life of a 28-year-old Beaverton man.

According to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 4:25 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, to the area of McCulloch Road, south of Calhoun Road, in Beaverton Township. The call was in response to a reported personal injury accident involving an all-terrain vehicle.

When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found that the operator of the ATV had been involved in a serious crash. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Austin McCulloch of Beaverton.

Despite the response of emergency personnel, McCulloch did not survive his injuries sustained in the crash.

The preliminary on-scene investigation indicates that McCulloch had been traveling northbound on McCulloch Road while operating a 2023 Can-Am Outlander 4×4 quad-runner. During the incident, he reportedly lost control of the ATV, resulting in the fatal crash.

The Daviess County community is mourning the loss of 69-year-old Steven Mackey, who died following a tragic tractor rollover incident in Utica.

According to the Daviess County Coroner, Mackey was identified as the person who lost his life in the accident. The incident occurred while Mackey was operating a tractor in the 2600 block of McMahan Road.

Authorities with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said the tractor traveled down an embankment before rolling over and overturning. Mackey was trapped beneath the overturned tractor and suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but Mackey was pronounced deceased as a result of the injuries he sustained.
