In Loving Memory of Taylor R. Robinson
With profound sadness, we remember Taylor R. Robinson, 21, of Johnson City, Tennessee, whose life was tragically cut short following a motorcycle crash on Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the Kingsport Police Department responded to a serious collision on Fort Henry Drive near Kenridge Street. Officers began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and determined that two vehicles—a 1998 black Yamaha V6A motorcycle and a 2007 black Scion tC—were traveling southbound on Fort Henry Drive in the right lane.
According to investigators, for reasons that remain unknown, Taylor, who was operating the Yamaha motorcycle, became unseated from the motorcycle and fell onto the roadway. The Scion tC, which was traveling in the same direction, subsequently drove over Taylor.
Taylor sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was transported to Johnson City Medical Center for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The news of Taylor’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an ordinary journey can turn into an unimaginable tragedy. At just 21 years old, he had so much life ahead of him, with countless possibilities, experiences, and memories still waiting to be made. His death leaves behind family, friends, loved ones, and members of his community who must now face the difficult reality of his absence.
Taylor was a resident of Johnson City and was identified by authorities as the driver of the Yamaha motorcycle. His passing has brought sorrow to those who knew and cared for him. While the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, the most important part of this story is the loss of a young life.
The driver of the Scion tC, Cody A. Lee, 35, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, was not injured in the collision. The Scion sustained non-disabling damage, while the Yamaha motorcycle also sustained non-disabling damage.
The Kingsport Police Department has stated that the investigation remains ongoing and that no further details will be released at this time. Authorities continue to work to understand exactly what happened before the crash and what factors may have contributed to the tragic collision.
For Taylor’s loved ones, however, the investigation cannot change the devastating reality of his passing. A family is left grieving a son, a young man is mourned by friends, and a community remembers someone whose life ended far too soon.
In moments like this, words can never fully express the depth of loss. Taylor’s life was more than the circumstances of the crash that took him away. He was a person with a name, a family, friendships, memories, and a future. Those who loved him will carry those memories forward and remember him for the life he lived rather than only for the tragedy surrounding his death.
May Taylor R. Robinson be remembered with love, dignity, and compassion. May his family and friends find strength and comfort as they navigate the difficult days ahead, and may the memories they shared with him remain a lasting part of their lives.
Rest in peace, Taylor R. Robinson.
Gone far too soon, but never forgotten.
