According to information released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office, Anthony entered the waters of Lake Ming at approximately 4:52 p.m. on Tuesday. What began as an ordinary day at the lake soon became a heartbreaking emergency, prompting a major search effort involving first responders and search-and-rescue personnel.

The Bakersfield Fire Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team worked for more than three hours in an effort to locate the teenager. Search crews continued their efforts through the evening as they searched the area and waters of Lake Ming.

Shortly after 7 p.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue personnel located Anthony in the water. Despite the search and rescue response, he was pronounced deceased.
