A Community Mourns Two Lives Lost in Rural Mission

The rural Mission community is mourning the loss of Patricia Beltran, 48, and her husband, Noe Garcia, 53, following a tragic murder-suicide that has left family, friends, and neighbors searching for answers.

According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a welfare call shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 2500 block of Jessica Avenue. When deputies arrived, they discovered Patricia and Noe in the backyard suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Investigators determined that Garcia shot and killed Beltran before taking his own life. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation as authorities continue working to establish a complete understanding of what happened.
