JASPER, Ark. — With heavy hearts, we remember Anthony Carrillo, 56, of Russellville, Arkansas, whose life was tragically taken following a vehicle crash in Newton County on Saturday, August 29.

According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety’s crash summary, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on State Highway 7 in Jasper. Anthony was traveling northbound on a 2014 Yamaha when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned while negotiating a curve.

Anthony died as a result of the crash, and his next of kin was notified.

Another person, Sugey Medrigal, 49, was traveling as a passenger and was injured. She was transported to Cox South in Springfield, Missouri, for treatment. Authorities reported that both Anthony and Medrigal were ejected during the crash. The Arkansas State Police responded to the scene.
