With profound sadness, we remember Cordaro Ryan Stock, 34, of Toledo, Oregon, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal crash on Highway 20 in Lincoln County.

According to the Oregon State Police, the incident occurred late Wednesday night, August 26, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., near milepost 10 on Highway 20. Investigators reported that a vehicle traveling westbound struck what the driver initially believed to be a deer. The vehicle continued along the highway before eventually stopping at a business in Newport.

It was there that another person spoke with the driver and passenger and learned that the vehicle may have struck a person. That individual made the call to 911, leading authorities to investigate further. Officers with the Toledo Police Department subsequently located a deceased pedestrian in a ditch near milepost 10. The pedestrian was identified as Cordaro Ryan Stock.

Behind the brief details of an official investigation was a human life—a person with a name, a history, memories, relationships, and people who cared deeply for him. Cordaro’s passing represents a heartbreaking loss for his loved ones, friends, and members of the Toledo community.

No words can truly express the pain that follows the sudden loss of someone dear.
