According to the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a welfare check at a home on Wuensch Road on Tuesday. Upon arrival, they discovered Sara and David deceased inside the residence. Authorities later released their names as the investigation continued. Their ages were not disclosed.

While the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain under investigation, the loss of two lives within the same home is a deeply painful event. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory assisted authorities as they worked to understand what happened. The La Crosse Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting autopsies as officials seek to determine the cause of death.
