With heavy hearts, family, friends, and the community of Linden mourn the tragic passing of Cynthia Susanne Prince, 56, who died on August 21, 2026, following a devastating pedestrian-train incident near the Poplar Street railroad crossing in Fenton, Michigan.

At approximately 9:35 p.m., officers with the Fenton Police Department were dispatched to the railroad tracks after receiving a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a westbound Canadian National train. When officers arrived, they located Ms. Prince and immediately began lifesaving efforts.

Despite the courageous efforts of first responders, Cynthia succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her sudden passing has left those who knew her facing a profound sense of loss, while authorities continue working to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
