Forever Remembered, Never Forgotten

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we remember Landen Englund, 16, of Menominee, Michigan, and Princeton Welty, 17, of Crivitz, two young lives that were tragically taken far too soon following a devastating vehicle crash in Marinette County on Saturday night.

Their passing is a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can change and how precious every moment with the people we love truly is. Landen and Princeton were teenagers with their whole lives ahead of them—dreams yet to be fulfilled, memories yet to be made, and countless moments that their families, friends, and loved ones expected to share with them in the years to come.

According to authorities, the crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. in the Town of Lake on Highway G near Loomis Road. Deputies say an iPhone crash notification alerted emergency dispatchers to the location, while another person also called to report the serious collision.

Investigators say Landen was driving south on Highway G when the vehicle failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree. Despite the efforts that followed, Landen lost his life in the crash. A front-seat passenger, Princeton, also died.

Two other people who were traveling in the vehicle were seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. One of the injured occupants was reportedly thrown from the vehicle. As families and loved ones face the painful aftermath of this tragedy, thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected.

Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash. The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Several surrounding agencies also responded and assisted at the scene.

But beyond the investigation, the statistics, and the details of the crash are two young people whose lives meant so much to the people who knew and loved them.

Remembering Landen

At just 16 years old, Landen had so much life still waiting for him. Sixteen is an age filled with possibilities—the beginning of discovering who you are, making plans for the future, building friendships, and creating memories that are meant to last a lifetime.
