In Loving Memory of Richard Housel

The Laurel community in Delaware is mourning the loss of 41-year-old Richard Housel, who died Saturday night after being involved in a fatal pedestrian crash.

The Delaware State Police identified Housel, a resident of Laurel, Delaware, as the victim following the tragic incident. His death has left family members, friends, neighbors, and others who knew him facing a heartbreaking loss as authorities continue working to determine exactly what happened.

According to the Delaware State Police, the crash occurred Saturday night in Laurel. Emergency responders were called to the scene following the collision, and despite the response of authorities, Housel was pronounced deceased as a result of the crash.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation. Specialized collision investigators are working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident, including what occurred immediately before the crash and the factors that may have contributed to the fatal collision.

At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details beyond the information provided in the preliminary announcement.

Investigators are also appealing to the public for assistance.
