Fatal Crash on Peru Olena Road and Old State Road

Bronson Township, Huron County, Ohio — August 17, 2026

With heavy hearts, we remember Timothy Williams, 49, of Greenwich, who tragically lost his life following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Peru Olena Road and Old State Road in Bronson Township, Huron County.

The fatal collision occurred on Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 8:29 p.m. The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

According to the preliminary investigation, Williams was operating a 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 southbound on Old State Road. At the same time, Spencer Brotzki, 18, of Monroeville, was driving a 2012 Ford F-350 westbound on Peru Olena Road.

Investigators determined through roadway evidence and the on-scene investigation that Brotzki failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection. His Ford F-350 then entered the intersection and struck Williams’ Dodge Ram on the driver’s side.

The force of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway toward the southwest. During the incident, the Dodge Ram also struck two traffic signposts.

Williams suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Emergency personnel and first responders worked at the scene, but Williams was pronounced deceased by the Huron County Coroner.

His death has left family members, friends and others who knew him facing the heartbreaking loss of a loved one. At 49 years old, Williams’ life was suddenly and tragically cut short in a crash that remains under investigation.

Brotzki sustained minor injuries and was transported to Fisher Titus Hospital by North Central EMS for treatment.

The crash prompted a temporary closure of the intersection and surrounding roadways while investigators examined the scene, documented evidence and worked to determine exactly how the collision occurred. After the investigation activities at the scene were completed, the roads were reopened to vehicular traffic.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol received assistance from several agencies during the response and investigation, including the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Norwalk Fire Department, North Central EMS, Interstate Towing, Huron County Coroner and Huron County Department of Transportation.

Fatal crashes leave behind far more than damaged vehicles and closed roadways. They leave families with an empty place at the table, friends with memories of someone who will no longer be there to share them, and communities reminded of how quickly an ordinary evening can become a devastating tragedy.
