In Loving Memory of Vincente Alan Adenau
With heavy hearts, we remember Vincente Alan Adenau, 43, of Granite Falls, whose life was tragically taken following a motorcycle collision in Burke County on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision on NC 181, just north of the 22-mile marker. According to the preliminary information released by investigators, a 2018 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on NC 181 when it traveled left of center and collided head-on with a northbound 2018 Subaru passenger car.
Vincente was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision. Despite the response of emergency personnel, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Subaru was not injured.
Investigators have indicated that speed and impairment are not considered contributing factors in the collision.
While the details of the crash describe how Vincente’s life came to a sudden and heartbreaking end, they cannot describe the person he was or the memories he leaves behind. Behind every name in a tragic accident is a human being who was loved, valued, and important to someone.
At just 43 years old, Vincente leaves behind memories that will remain with his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched. His absence will be deeply felt in the days, weeks, and years ahead.
Sudden loss can be incredibly difficult to understand. There are often questions that have no easy answers and moments when memories come flooding back unexpectedly. A song, a photograph, a familiar place, or a simple story can bring someone back to mind and remind us of how much they meant.
In times of grief, those memories become precious. They allow us to hold on to the love, laughter, conversations, and experiences that can never be taken away.
To Vincente’s family and friends, may you find strength in one another and comfort in the memories you shared with him. May you give yourselves time to grieve, to remember, and to heal.
Though Vincente is no longer with us, his memory will continue through the people who loved him and the lives he touched.
In loving memory of Vincente Alan Adenau.
May he rest in peace. May his family be surrounded by comfort and strength, and may the memories of his life remain a lasting blessing.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
